Until proven otherwise, we will all die and it will always caought us by surprise. When I was a teenager, a friend of my mother died of cancer leaving two daughters. My mother told me ‘if I knew I was going to die, I would want to leave you all the answers to all the questions you could ask when I was not there.’ But we do not need an illness terminal to know that we are going to die. If you’re alive, you’re going to die. If you want to do something, do it now.
ASKMOTHER&MOTHER aims to modernize death both technologically and conceptually. It works in two phases: The first is a mobile application that mom downloads. This will launch questions throughout your life. Once deceased, your children receive MOTHER: a device that has registered all the answers that mom answered. MOTHER is a memorial. MOTHER does not invent. The children will ask to MOTHER but they will respond mom. ASKMOTHER&MOTHER intends to help accepting death as part of life and in turn, leave a more human memory to those who were left. In short: moms who die a little less and a little bit better.
