SALA FERUSIC Architects is an architecture studio established in Barcelona by the architects Carles Sala and Relja Ferusic, which combines multidisciplinary and transversal knowledge to innovate in architecture and design.
Since its foundation in 2008, the studio has developed a prolific work, from urban planning and architecture projects to the design of ephemeral and product installations, relying on new design and manufacturing technologies to responsibly unite architecture and manufacturing means.
The study has been highlighted as an Emerging Young Office by the ‘Arquia / Próxima’ Foundation, while its work has been awarded by institutions such as FAD, COAC or CSCAE ‘Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo’, published by ‘On Diseño’, ‘ Arquitectura Viva ‘ or ‘Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme ‘ and exhibited at CCCB, MUHBA or ‘Círculo de Bellas Artes’ among others.
SALA FERUSIC Architects has a solid experience in the design of ephemeral and product installations, some of them also developed from the academic and research fields. Carles Sala and Relja Ferusic are currently professors at the Barcelona School of Architecture, and since 2013, they have developed a research project together with the AA School of Architecture in London and the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona.
Both have also taught at different architecture schools on the international scene, such as ETH in Zurich, AA School of Architecture in London, WSA in Cardiff, IAAC in Barcelona or ESARQ in Barcelona, while they have given conferences and participated in juries of projects at The Bartlett UCL in London, Central Saint Martins UAL in London, CCAE University College in Cork, Università degli Studi dell’Aquila or ETSAM in Madrid among others.
